The rear axle subframe in most BMW models are held in location by 2 hollow rubber mounts. This is done this way to avoid rear axle and drive train vibration from being transmitted to the drivers compartment. This soft mounting system presents a problem for any high speed cornering. The excessive flex will cause the rear suspension to shift, and cause changes in vehicles alignment settings. The BMP hard urethane rear subframe stiffeners will easily press into the hollow spaces in the factory rear mounts. This makes the rear mount much stiffer, without a major change to ride comfort. Each kit includes 2 stiffeners. We recommend replacing broken or worn rear mount to avoid additional labor.
